Roughly 6 hours ago, our machine became victim of a ransomware virus attack. When ransomware infects a computer, it will go through every file on the computer and encrypt it with its own special file encryption. The attacker literally holds your files for ransom and asks for money in return for your files back. In most cases, the ransom will be paid, but the files will not be returned. Both John and I have been searching throughout the internet for a miracle to decrypt these files. Sadly, this encryption method is new, and there are currently no known methods to decrypt it. We're working with several sources to see what our options are. In the meantime, the server will remain down while we further assess the situation. At this time I have no estimated time frame on when the server will be back up and running. As soon as I have any more information, I will update this thread. UPDATE 6/1/2017 8:13PM Just to fill everyone in, we're still going through the data, and we hope to have a conclusion tomorrow night on what data can be pulled from this machine.
Give em hell I know how much we all used to talk shit about the server and how we still talk shit about each other but this community genuinely made my life good when I needed it
Hopefully you find the right decrypter to get the files back if not its gonna suck on your end and for the people that get to experience another money and inventory wipe + server rehaul blah blah. Good luck.
Oh man, this really does suck. I was Getting to really know and love the tdrp community. I'm sure there's a way you guys can get out of this. Best of luck.
It was a good run guys. Ill be here if we're around still. I had a great time getting to know some people better on TS. being a Fake MA was more than i could ever have imagined. Thanks for all the memories my dudes.
is it wannacrypt? If so, I can recall Officer Dan speaking about how he knows the people who started those attacks in TS. Also, can you try paying the ransom? Depending on where it originated from it might legitimately release your files after it's paid. If not, this might be worth a shot. Did the server not have a backup? Can't you just do a roll-back? https://www.nomoreransom.org/
I don't think you understand peoples money and inventory files and hours were all on it. I don't think you can just back that shit up.
